Steve Swartz is one of Greg McCann's co-consultants for family businesses. He has over 40 years of experience as a family business consultant, mediator and former practicing attorney. His education, training and experience contributes significantly to the effectiveness of our family business consulting services:
Family Business Consulting
- McGladrey & Pullen Family Business Group (formerly Hubler/Swartz & Associates): Co-founder in 1980 and senior consultant until retirement in 2000. Consulted with over 250 family owned businesses on issues of (a)
leadership and management transition, (b) ownership transition, and (c)
working relationship tensions
- Family Firm Institute: Charter member, serving on its Board of Directors
from 1988 to 1991 and as President from 1990 to 1992.
- Presented workshops at several annual conferences, and authored "The
Challenges of Multidisciplinary Consulting to Family-Owned Businesses,"
published in the Family Business Review (volume 2,number 4, Winter 1989)
- Inaugurated as FFI "Fellow" in 2001.
- Stetson University (Deland, Florida): Adjunct faculty in the Stetson
